🇦🇱 Country #13 - Albania

Albania surprised me.

Hot.

Humid.

Wet air that made every kilometre feel heavier than it should.

The kind of conditions that slowly drain your energy without you even realising.

On the 9th of May, Run for Voices landed in Tirana for country #13 of 50.

The run began near the airport before heading all the way into the city centre.

From there, I spent kilometre after kilometre running around the lake, pushing through the heat and humidity to complete another 50K.

But what made this run special wasn’t just the distance.

It was the people.

My good friend Peter travelled all the way from Hungary to be there. We met in Hungary and he pushed through the whole 50k then.

Not only did he run with me this time, but he also spent around 30 kilometres supporting me on the bike alongside the route.

That type of support means more than people realise during an ultra marathon.

Especially on the difficult days.

Then came one of the most unexpected moments of the entire challenge so far.

As I was running my 49th kilometre, a local runner called Dorjan recognised me while I was passing through the city.

In a country I had never visited before… someone knew about Run for Voices.

He decided to join me for the final kilometre.

And honestly, that moment stayed with me.

A stranger becoming a friend through running.

Through purpose.

Through a shared understanding of what this challenge represents.

That’s what Run for Voices is all about.

Every country continues to remind me that this journey is becoming bigger than just running.

It’s becoming a movement built on connection, support, and shared stories across the world.

Country #13 complete.

Another 50K done.

Next stop: Luxembourg 🇱🇺, the journey continues.

This is Run for Voices.

50K in 50 countries.
