🇱🇺 Ultra-Marathon #14 - Country #14 — Luxembourg
Some runs test your fitness.
Others remind you what you’re capable of.
This was one of those.
Four weeks had passed since my last ultra marathon in Albania, making this the longest break I’ve had since starting Run for Voices. I arrived in Luxembourg knowing my legs were rested, but also wondering how they would respond after time away from racing.
At 6:00 AM, while most of the city was still asleep, I began running through the empty streets of Luxembourg.
No traffic.
No crowds.
Just the sound of my footsteps and the sunrise slowly lighting up the city.
It was a special moment.
As the kilometres went by, Luxembourg revealed its beauty. The architecture, the churches, the castles, the bridges, and the endless views made every section of the route memorable.
What I wasn’t prepared for, however, were the hills.
They were everywhere.
By the end of the run, I had climbed over 500 metres of elevation. Every hill demanded a little more effort, a little more focus, and a little more resilience.
But we kept moving forward.
One step at a time.
What made this run truly unforgettable was the support from the local running community. Several runners joined me along the way, embraced the cause, and helped push me through the toughest moments of the day.
Because of their support, their energy, and their belief in the mission, I achieved something I never expected.
A special thanks goes to Flavio who supported me in the last 12k of the Ultra-Marathon and helped me push towards the end.
A new personal best.
25 minutes faster than my previous best time.
A reminder that when people come together for a purpose bigger than themselves, incredible things can happen.
Country #14 is now complete.
