🇨🇾 Ultra-Marathon #15, Country #15 — Larnaca, Cyprus

Some runs are fast.

Some runs are beautiful.

And some runs teach you that the body is capable of far more than the mind thinks.

Country #15 of Run for Voices brought me to Larnaca, Cyprus.

I landed just after midnight and managed around three hours of sleep before the alarm went off at 4:30 AM.

By 5:00 AM, under the first light of sunrise, the run had begun.

The roads were quiet.

The sea was calm.

And for a brief moment, it felt like I had the whole island to myself.

I followed the coastline all the way towards the British military bases before turning around and making my way back. The scenery was stunning, but the heat was beginning to make itself known.

By 8:00 AM, the temperature had already climbed above 30°C.

There was no shade.

No wind.

Just sun, sweat, and the next kilometre.

By the end of the run, I had consumed nearly six litres of water trying to stay hydrated.

And despite the conditions, the body kept moving.

As the final stretch approached, around the 42-kilometre mark, I saw another runner out enjoying his morning jog.

I asked him if he wanted to join me for the final 8K.

At first, he thought I was joking.

But when I told him I was running 50 kilometres and showed him that I had already completed 42K, he couldn’t believe it.

What started as two strangers passing each other became two runners sharing the final kilometres together.

And just like that, another stranger became a friend.

That’s what Run for Voices is all about.

Not just running.

Connection.

Stories.

People.

Country #15 is complete.

Fifteen countries.

Fifteen ultra-marathons.

One mission.

Running for those who lost their voices.

Run for Voices continues.

50K in 50 Countries.
