🇭🇺 Ultra-Marathon #4, Country #4, Hungary, Budapest.

24th January 2026
Country #4 of 50 of Run for Voices took place in Budapest, and it marked a turning point in the journey.
I landed at 11:00am.
At 1:00pm, the run began.
This time, I wasn’t alone.
Around 20 runners from The Running Latte Club showed up to support the run and to help share the mission of Run for Voices with their community. From the very first steps, the energy felt different. This was the first time Run for Voices wasn’t just about me completing 50 kilometres, it was about a group of people choosing to run for a reason.
People joined for different distances: 5km, 10km, 20km.
Seven runners stayed for the full 50km.
For many of them, it meant running a marathon, and then going beyond it. For some, it was their first ultra marathon ever.
As the kilometres passed and daylight faded, the real challenge began. There were moments when the pain was obvious, when bodies were exhausted and minds were already finished. You could see it in the silence, in the slowing pace, in the doubts creeping in.
But nobody quit.
We pushed through discomfort, through fatigue, through moments where stopping would have been easier. And we did it together. Every kilometre became shared. Every struggle became collective.
Alexis organised the route with care, making sure the run flowed through the city in a way that kept everyone connected. Sergio hosted me in Budapest and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. From start to finish, I was treated not like a guest, but like a brother.
We ended the night the best way possible: pizza, laughter, and a small group of runners who still had enough energy left to sit down and reflect on what they had just done.
Strangers became teammates.
Teammates became friends.
Friends became family.
This run reminded me why ‘Run for Voices’ exists. It’s not just about distance, pace, or numbers. It’s about connection. It’s about showing up for something bigger than yourself, and discovering how powerful that becomes when others choose to do the same.
50 kilometres.
Country #4 of 50.
Budapest, Hungary 🇭🇺
Completed.
Run for Voices continues.
