🇩🇰Ultra-Marathon #6, Country #6, Copenhagen, Denmark.
14th February 2026
Country #6 of Run for Voices took place in Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰
It was bright. Clear. Sunny.
And −8°C.
Despite the freezing temperatures, the streets were full of life. People cycling, walking, training, sitting outside cafés wrapped in layers. Copenhagen doesn’t slow down for winter. It adapts to it.
I started the run moving through Nyhavn, the colourful harbour reflecting the sharp winter light. From there, I headed south toward the island where the airport sits, running long, exposed stretches with icy roads beneath my feet and snow neatly piled along the sides.
The conditions demanded focus. Every step had to be controlled. The surface was unpredictable in parts, compact snow in some sections, thin ice in others. It wasn’t extreme like Iceland, but it required respect.
Luigi, who had joined me in Barcelona, was there again. His consistency, his presence, his quiet support throughout these countries means more than words can explain.
For the final 10 kilometres, Petra, a dear friend, joined the run on her bike. Riding alongside me in the cold, checking in, keeping the energy up. Her husband Peter followed in a van across the road, making sure we were safe on the icy stretches.
In the final kilometre, Petra got off the bike and ran beside me. She brought snacks, encouragement, and the kind of support that lifts you when fatigue starts to settle in.
It was simple. It was honest. It was powerful.
No big crowds.
No race atmosphere.
Just movement through a winter city that refuses to stop.
50 kilometres through snow-lined streets.
Sunlight over frozen roads.
Country #6 of 50.
Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰
Completed.
Run for Voices continues.
